I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998 with a degree in American Literature, minoring in Italian and Fine Art. After graduating, I worked in Advertising before settling down to raise a family. Painting is my therapy; a pause button to escape and think about what is going on around me. Right now, I am interested in the ideas of doors and windows in relation to revealing oneself. Opened, closed, lights off/on, hiding, from the inside looking out or looking in. Wondering what/who is inside? What are they eating for dinner? Is there life inside? Are they living? Or closing doors on each other? Closing doors on parts of themselves? Is there anything to see outside? What makes it worth opening up the eyes? In honor of my mom, and other loved ones that have died or suffered from cancer, I will donate 5 % of all sales to the American Cancer Society. Special thanks to Susan at Prospering Farms for the fly donations! |
